The Counselling Session

I believe when the appropriate environment and support is provided every person has the ability to achieve their goals.

I bring to counselling my natural ability to be non-judgmental, respectful and compassionate. I believe these are essential elements in providing a supportive professional counselling service.

A counselling session usually lasts for 1 hour. The number of sessions required will depend on the needs of each individual client and the issues presenting.

The initial counselling session is used to discuss why you have come to counselling, what your concerns are and what you are hoping to achieve. I am here to answer any questions or concerns you may have around the counselling process, session frequency, confidentiality and to gather appropriate history details so we can safely work together.

This first session is an opportunity to begin to get to know one another, to assess if we feel comfortable working together and if I can meet your particular needs as your counsellor.

Clients are often referred by their GP or another professional practitioner.  You do not need a referral to attend counselling.  You can contact me directly for information or to make an appointment.
